Certified Rock Guides and Certified Rock Instructors
The American Mountain
Guides Association (AMGA) offers training and assessment for rock
and alpine climbing and ski-mountaineering guides in the areas of
leadership, judgment, client care, technical expertise, rescue skill,
and environmental consciousness, and certifies those individuals who
demonstrate a high level of knowledge and ability in all these areas.
The AMGA offers both Rock Guide Certification and Rock Instructor
Certification. TR Guide stands for Top Rope Certification.
