Catch a Trout, Win A Prize. a Each Labor Day, the lakes are loaded with tagged trout, and this fishing festival celebrates what Mammoth is known for which is large juicy trout. The giant derby has a $1,000,000 cash prize if you catch the right trout... and get lucky, but also lots of other prizes including boats, vacations and fishing gear. This year the competition has been narrowed down to include only the Mammoth area and June Lake area lakes so your chances to win have just increased.
